Details

 Tour of the Station

Who's in that office? What happens in there? Who do I talk to about this?

A guided tour through all the studios, with emphasis on all the areas you will work in the most.

 Equipment Demonstrations

What's that? What happens when I push this? What do I do now? That looks complicated!

We dispel the myths about difficulty, and guide you through the simple processes involved in making things work!

 Defining Roles

Who are you? What do you do? What do I do whilst I am here? What are your responsibilities? What are my responsibilities?

We clear up any confusion, by highlighting exactly what we do, and what is expected of you.

 Laws and Regulations

Can I say this? What if someone complains? Do I need to worry about defamation?

We focus on the most common sources of complaint, and acquaint you with the Broadcasting Standards Authority code of practice.

 Programme Planning

What do I say now? Shall we do this yet? Do we have enough time to do this? I've just had this great idea...

We show you how to go from the brainstorm stage, right through to broadcast in simple steps that ensure you are fully prepared and that there are no nasty surprises!

 Practical Sessions

Can I have a go?

Yes you can, and now is the time. We've shown you what to do, now take the opportunity to record some material, edit it, package it and have it evaluated for broadcast suitability.

Making an Access Radio Programme allows you to express yourself, and retain Editorial Control. If you want to make the most of this valuable experience, contact the station now!
